Welcome to our website and thank you for your interest in our school. My name is Fanny Levy, and I became Head of School on July 1. I am proud to be heading up Shalom School, which has been the Jewish Community Day School for the Sacramento Valley Region since 1978. Since that time, Shalom School has offered an outstanding secular and Jewish education for children from three months of age through sixth grade. Our graduates go on to be successful in local private and public school programs, including IB and Rapid Learner Programs.

Whether you are interested in infant care, preschool, kindergarten or grades 1-6, Shalom School can provide your children with an outstanding educational experience in a warm and caring environment. Our highly qualified staff is here to make sure your children will truly be known and appreciated for who they are and receive the individualized attention they need to thrive academically, socially and spiritually.

Our preschool offers multiage groupings that create a diverse environment that maximizes the children’s opportunity to be socially successful, and pre-kindergarten age students also receive instruction in phonics and handwriting to ensure they are well prepared for the academic challenges of kindergarten. In our elementary school, teachers utilize Smart Board technology in state of the art classrooms. In addition to instruction in language arts, math, science, social studies and Judaica, students have the advantage of learning a second language (Hebrew), and have classes in music, computers, physical education and library skills. Students in third grade and up can opt to enroll in our band program. The elementary school also offers after school programs including drama, sports and mathletes. There is after school care for all ages.
