Fourth Grade
Welcome to the Fourth Grade!
The fourth grade curriculum is developmentally appropriate and provides opportunities for physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development for each child. Each child’s interests are explored and are important starting points for learning. Our educational partnership of student, parent, and teacher will flourish as your child’s ideas and work are taken seriously.
A typical morning in 4th grade…Students are preparing a packing list of supplies for their 2 night stay at Camp Tawonga, this provides an opportunity for them to experience life as a Jew during the Gold Rush. Teams of students are constructing Knex Roller Coasters while demonstrating cooperative skills, ability to follow technical instructions, and knowledge of the basic laws of physics. Published writers are creating travel journals that reflect good story-telling as well as effective use of research skills and technology. Students are proudly displaying their artwork and poetry around the classroom. Then the bell rings, and the engaged, happy fourth-graders gallop to recess…
