Parent Hours

The Parent Participation Program requires that each family contribute 25 hours of service per school year. Every family is responsible for completing these hours by May 15th and at the end of the school year, any family who has not fulfilled all their hours must pay the difference between the hours worked and the 25-hour commitment at a rate of $15.00 per hour. The Parent Participation Program helps to increase family involvement, build community, and strengthen our school. Thank you in advance for your time, energy, commitment, and support. 

Ways to learn about volunteer opportunities include:

• Check your emails. Volunteer opportunities will be posted in the E-news and your child’s teacher(s) will also email opportunities as they arise. Opportunities for major events such as the Annual Benefit, PTF events, field trips, and Jewish holiday celebrations/ceremonies will be emailed through www.signupgenius.com.
• PTF Meetings.  Attend the meetings to learn about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. You will receive 1 hour for each meeting attended.
• Refer a friend to Shalom School! Parents can earn 5 hours if their friend tours and an additional 10 hours if they enroll.
• Purchase requested supplies from teachers. Earn 1 volunteer hour for every $15 of purchased supplies requested by teachers. Purchases must be approved in advance. Check out the Amazon wish lists below!
• Shalom Share. Join the Shalom Share Facebook group to share or receive items! Every item shared or received gets you ½ hour of volunteer time!
