PS/Pk Social Studies

The social studies curriculum is designed to promote a strong sense of community, foster positive identity, and develop an emerging sense of self and others. In all classrooms, the curriculum emphasizes diverse family structures, a sense of belonging in the classroom and school community, and a connection to individual neighborhoods and the broader community. The curriculum concentrates on the many aspects of the children’s cultural and environmental world through special events, visitors from the community, classroom jobs, books, music, and classroom themes.
