Curriculum, Specials, and Experiential Learning

Our curriculum takes California State Common Core Standards and Next Generation Science Standards as its foundation and then enriches those essential building blocks by integrating the study of Hebrew and Judaics, creating a wide range of opportunities for students to develop critical thinking, writing, and problem-solving skills. Project-based and cooperative learning opportunities, simulations and hands-on activities, art, and music are incorporated throughout the K-6 sequence.

The school supports a wide range of field trips, including visits to museums, performances, and hands-on opportunities to explore science, technology, the arts, and more. Older students experience multi-day overnight trips that enhance the curriculum, give opportunities for independence and class bonding, and open them up to experiences in the wider world.

Educational technology is also integrated throughout the program, with a state-of-the-art STEAM lab, SMART Boards in classrooms, and one-to-one computing in the classrooms. Our media program provides students with the opportunity to learn 21st century skills, library skills, critical thinking, inquiry and research skills, digital literacy and citizenship, along with literature appreciation. Students participate in physical education and develop habits of lifelong fitness and sportsmanship through a skills-based curriculum that emphasizes teamwork and collaboration.
