Preschool Teacher
Shalom School's Preschool and Pre-k is NAEYC accredited and believes in fostering the emotional, social, academic, and spiritual development of each child. We are looking for qualified teachers to be part of our team. Pay: $16-$22/hour, depending on experience.
We’re looking for a candidate who:
- Works well with a team of teachers
- Loves and respects children
- Interacts with children to support their emotional growth
- Will be part of a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment
- Uses observation techniques to record children's behaviors and skills, and maintain anecdotal records
- Communicates well with families
Education/Qualifications and Experience:
- 6-12 core ECE units
- 6 months or more of teaching experience
- Able/willing to run and play with children, as well as twist, bend, squat, lift, and carry
- First Aid/CPR certified
- Immunization and live scan clearance
- Willing to attend after-hours staff development
STEAM Teacher
This is a part-time position beginning August 2023. The salary for this 10-month position is $30/hr for a 15-18 hour work week.
Shalom School is searching for an enthusiastic and team-oriented STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) teacher to teach Pre-k through 6th grade STEAM. The ideal candidate will have a passion for STEAM instruction, demonstrated success in planning engaging lessons, and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
We’re looking for a candidate who:
- Delivers/teaches developmentally-appropriate lessons that provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences
- Develops and writes high-quality STEAM lesson plans and assigns work which is meaningful and applied, and helps students deepen learning of specific objectives
- Maintains current knowledge of developments in the STEAM model and science and technology overall
- Uses a variety of technological applications and online resources
- Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and design challenges; clearly communicates expectations to students.
- Prepares and implements ongoing assessments, design challenges, and related performance rubrics to evaluate students' progress
- Utilizes formative and summative assessments to evaluate academic/social growth and prepare report cards
- Adapts methods and materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
- Provides individual and group instruction, using various methods and hands-on learning opportunities

Elementary Media Specialist
This is a part-time position beginning August 2023. The salary for this 10-month position is $40/hr for a 10-15 hour work week.
We’re looking for a candidate who is:
- Capable of working closely with individual teachers in the critical areas of designing authentic learning tasks and assessments and integrating the information and communication abilities required to meet subject matter standards
- Knowledgeable about current research on teaching and learning and skilled in applying its findings to a variety of situation--particularly those that call upon students to access, evaluate, and use information from multiple sources in order to learn, to think, and to create and apply new knowledge
- Able to provide leadership and expertise in acquiring and evaluating information resources in all formats; in bringing an awareness of information issues into collaborative relationships with teachers, administrators, students, and others; and in modeling for students and others strategies for locating, accessing, and evaluating information within and beyond the library media center
- Skilled at managing sophisticated electronic resources and maintains a constant focus on the nature, quality, and ethical use of information available in these and in more traditional tools
- Proficient in integrating and embedding 21st century skills
- Adept at maintaining a diverse and current media collection (electronic and print) and facilitate student and staff use of the resources in the media center program

This is a full-time position beginning August 2023. The salary for this 10-month position is $44,000. The ideal candidate will have a passion for elementary education, demonstrated success in planning engaging lessons, and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
We’re looking for a candidate who is:
- Responsible for specific components of the curriculum and work with the Lead Teacher on instructional planning, teaching, and student assessment
- Capable of sharing responsibility, with the Lead Teacher, for maintaining an organized and respectful classroom learning environment
- Innovative and creative with instructional practices they bring to the classroom
- Comfortable with contributing and using student data to guide classroom instruction
- Capable of meeting the needs of a wide range of learners
- Able to work with the Lead Teacher to engage with parents as partners in their children's growth and development
- Collaborative and enjoys working on a team

Elementary Substitute Teacher
Shalom School is searching for enthusiastic, organized, and dependable elementary substitute teachers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for elementary education, demonstrated success in executing lessons, effective classroom management, and the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administration. Pay is $25/hour.
Education/Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or Associate’s Degree in an educational-related field
- Experience working in an elementary school

Instructional Support Teacher
Shalom School's Director of Curriculum and Instruction seeks an experienced educator to design, coordinate, and provide research-based specialized instruction and services to students with learning differences. The Instructional Support Teacher will be responsible for creating and maintaining students’ individualized learning plans, evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional objectives; reviewing and interpreting educational testing; coaching teachers on differentiation and classroom interventions; managing the referral process to outside providers and public school services; and coordinating communication between students, parents, teachers, administrators, and service providers.
We’re looking for a candidate who:
- Has a thorough understanding of various special education needs and services and good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies.
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain a calm and patient demeanor with all students, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, a positive attitude, and strong collaboration skills.
Education/Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited institution is required, Special Education preferred; Master’s degree in Special Education is preferred
- Appropriate state license or certification required (Special Education credential, preferred)
- Minimum three years teaching experience
- Experience working with children with a wide range of learning differences
- Experience with English Language Learners is preferred, but not required
